  • 1 1/2 cups 190g all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup 200g granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup 115g unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup 240ml buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup 50g cinnamon sugar (see Tips below)
  • 1/4 cup 30g chopped walnuts (optional)

Notes

To make cinnamon sugar, combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar with 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon. Walnuts are optional but add a nice crunch. Serve warm with a glaze if desired.
